Finally after a long off season, the Packers are back and looking for the Lombardi Trophy to come home. The Packers started there season September 5th. They played against they longest and most notable rival the Chicago Bears. The Bears and Packers rivalry goes back to the beginning of the ¨Super Bowl Era¨, so it makes sense to start off the NFL's 100th season with their longest rivalry.

The Packers started the season with a 10-3 win over the Bears. It was a completely defensive game, which was expected from the Bears famous defense. But the Packers, always being known for there explosive offensive, almost completely shutout their opponents offense. Over the summer, the Packers made some big time signings that contributed to this big win.
On the defensive side Za'Darius Smith, who plays outside linebacker, helped propel the defense to its dominate performance. He finally gave them some help with the pass rush, that the Packers have needed for a couple years. The biggest improvement on the defense has to be the secondary. The secondary consist of Kevin King, Adrian Amos, Jaire Alexander, and rookie Darnell Savage. These cornerbacks and safeties are the biggest reason that Trubisky could only manage to get the Bears three points.
The Packers offense did struggle to score also. They only got ten point up on the board against the "Monsters of the Midway", but luckily that is all they needed to get them a W in the Win column. Their offensive line, led by all-pro left tackle David Bakhtiari, struggled against the Bears dominant defense line. The line allowed many sacks and missed tons of blocks that need to be cleaned up if they want to continue their week one success.
Aaron Rodgers always comes ready to play and ball out. Aaron Rodgers, is still and was still the star of the Packers offense on their Thursday night game. Aaron Rodgers only threw for one touchdown, but with his leadership and ability to make a play out of anything really helped the Packers lock this game up. Davante Adams is going to be another big factor in the offense. Both these pro-bowlers chemistry is going to be scary for any team in the NFL.

This week one victory has shown how good the Pack could be if they just pick up the Offense a little bit. The Packers have the Vikings next Sunday and are going to need to be ready for another battle. The Viking could be one of the most explosive offenses in the league this year with Dalvin Cook, Stefan Diggs, and Adam Thielen all back. As long as the Packers keep this defense up, they should be able to get a win at their home opener at Lambeau Field.
This is a very goo article Jake! I personally am a huge Vikings fan so I'm excited to read about the next article and see what you have to say about that game. That's a great way to start off the season against a tough defense like the Bears and having your defense stand out like that!
I am a huge Green Bay Packers fan. The Packers Bears rivalry is unlike any other rivalry. It's gone on for 100 years now and is still going strong. The Packers defense in the week one game was a surprise. I agree that they usually are not very strong defensively so it was impressive. The Rodgers Adams duo can be very intimidating to any team in the NFL. The game was overall a big mess. Both teams looked like they have a lot to improve on. Overall, this blog was very informative and visually pleasing.
